The Buddha Walks into a Bar

I totally forgot that Lodro Rinzler’s talk at the end of the month. For all of the self-actualizing (and maybe self-actualized) tribe, here is a book about balancing the spiritual path with living life. Crisina from Books and Books told me about this…so I’m excited to share it.

Join 29-year-old Shambhala Buddhist practitioner for part of the Miami leg of his book tour. The Buddha Walks into a Bar (Shambhala, $14.95)  is a book for those who are spiritual but not religious, who are disillusioned by the state of the world, who are sick of their jobs (and just started last Tuesday), who like drinking beer and having sex and hate being preached at, who are striving to deepen their social interactions beyond the digital realms of Twitter and Facebook. This is Buddhism presented to a generation leaving the safe growth spurts of college and entering a turbulent and uncertain work force. The Buddha Walks into a Bar is Lodro Rinzler’s introduction to Buddhism for anyone who wants to ride the waves of life with mindfulness and compassion. Join the author and teacher for a discussion on how to apply various forms of compassion to long-term relationships, dating, and even our sex life. 6:30pm

Also, Lodro will be talking the following day at The Standard @ 7:30pm (which I helped orchestrate), so check him out either day.
